Brine Shrimp Eggs
- Hatching tank for small quantities, ideally, a clear plastic or glass bottle; for larger quantities a 10-55 gallon fiberglass tank will do well.
- Be sure to use clean sea water or artifical salt water, optimal specific gravity 1.01 to 1.02.
- The optimum pH is 7.5-8.5. You can add an alkaline solution (Soda Ash, Sodium Sulfate, etc.)
- Be sure there is enough air to keep all eggs in circulation at all times. You can pump air by airstone.
- The optimum hatching temperature should be 28 degrees C (82 degreesF).
- The best hatching time is after 20-36 hours.
- To harvest; remove air hose and wait fifteen minutes. The Nauplii will school on the bottom. Siphon them into a fine mesh net by using a plastic tube.
- Store the cysts at low temperature and in a dry area in order to keep them fresh and alive.
*** Add 5 Tablespoons of Salt to 2 liters of water to make artificial salt water.
